Connect your IPhone to your computer. Click on the IPhone in the device list in ITunes. Then click on the box which says manually manage songs and videos. This will make it so that it will not automatically sync the songs and videos. You can instead drag and drop the new songs from your ITunes library to your IPhone.
Load up itunes and have it sync backup everything it will then load your old songs into itunes, then you can add new ones and tick the ones you want including old ones
When you plug in your iPhone,
In the summary pane, select manually manage music.
When in question, it is always a good idea to back up your iPhone.
